Delia Smith

Delia Jean Smith, age 80, of Hamburg, formerly of Eudora, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Lawson, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Terrell Gillum Sr. and Gertie Mae Poole and was a homemaker and member of North Side Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Smith Jr, a daughter, Peggy Jean McCoy, a half-brother, Winford Gillum and two sisters, Alice and Joyce Gillum. Survivors are a son, Sammy Smith and wife, Rebecca of Hamburg; six brothers, Benny Gillum of Crockett, Texas, Travis Gillum of Snyder, Terrell Gillum Jr. of Eudora, James Gillum of Noble, Okla., Marquett Gillum of Lake Providence, La. and William Bernard Gillum of Saco, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Mae McPherson of Odessa, Texas; five grandchildren, LaRhonda McCoy, Dusty Smith, Angela Willihite, Steven Smith and Brock McCoy and eight great-grandchildren, Lilly and Lexie McCoy, Landon Smith, Ethan Willhite, Jacod and Samuel Smith and Shelby and Micah McCoy. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village. Funeral Services are 10 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011, at North Side Baptist Church in Eudora with Bro. Monty Meek and Bro. James Kitchens officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home.
