Harold Ray Burton, Sr., 82, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. He was born on May 19, 1929 in Iva, South Carolina, a son of the late Hubbard Walter and Ruby Evans Burton. He graduated from Iva High School and attended Clemson University. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He retired from Merck Pharmaceuticals. He was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and loved working in his yard, gardening and woodworking. Ray never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Burton. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Anne Holcombe Burton; two daughters, Lisa Harper (Bobby) and Nancy Burton; one son, Hal Burton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2011, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, (501) 224-8300. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Jaggars officiating. A private interment will be at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle, Arkansas.
