Carl Seiffert

Carl Seiffert, 84, passed away August 12, 2011 at Baptist Trinity Hospice House. He was born on August 13, 1926 in Little Rock, Ark. to Carl and Marie Seiffert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Rochelle Seiffert; daughter, Marie Elizabeth Paseur; and sister, Flora Mae Griffey. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Nancy Spencer Seiffert; daughters, Kay Fields (Paul) and Debbie Harrison (Larry); grandchildren, Paul Fields, Jr. (Tracy) of Dallas, Texas and Elizabeth Rodriguez (Mike), Merri Catherine Curry (David), Jason Paseur, Hank Harrison, and Heather Harrison, all of Memphis; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Seiffert is also survived by Nancy's daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Fisher (John), of Memphis; grandchildren, Christy Pilkington (Timmy), of Rosemark, Kellie Spencer, of Covington, Lewis Crider (Beth), of Jackson, Tenn., and Powell Crider (Cheryl), of Memphis, Tenn.; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Seiffert was currently a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the owner of Seiffert General Graphics. Mr. Seiffert was a 3rd degree Mason and Shriner and served in the oriental band. Mr. and Mrs. Seiffert were formerly members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where Carl was president of the United Methodist Men, chairman of the board, and sponsor and chaperon of the Friendship Singers Choir. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday, August 13 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Sunday, August 14 at the Rotunda of Memorial Park Cemetery's Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Trinity Hospice House or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
