Joel Winston Smith

Joel Winston Smith, 5, of Ward, was called to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 after an 18 month battle with cancer. He was born February 22, 2006 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Although his time here was short, he touched so many lives and made so many memories. Joel loved superheroes and to all that knew him, he was a truly everyone's superhero. Joel is survived by his loving parents, Robert "Bobby" W. and Amy Lea Tabor Smith, little brother, Grant of Ward, his maternal grandparents, George and Beverly McKinley, his paternal grandparents, Bob and Jane Smith, and Bob and Carolyn Hanks, his great grandmothers, Mary Tabor and Jeanne Rogers, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and a multitude of friends. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church in Cabot, with Bro. Brent Summerhill officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Lindsey Cemetery, Poyen, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Keep the Faith Foundation, a ministry of Faith Baptist Church of Cabot.
