Ronald Lee Anderson

Ronald Lee Anderson, 65, of Arkansas City, Ark. passed away Friday, Aug. 19 in Little Rock, Ark. Mr. Anderson was born July 21, 1946 in Dermott, Ark. to the late Andy Sanford Anderson Sr. and Mary Aline Cagle Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of McGehee High School (1965), a graduate of U.A.M. (1969), past mayor of Arkansas City, Ark., currently an Alderman for Arkansas City. A past member of the Arkansas City School Board, co-chief of the Arkansas City V.F.D., a member of Morter Hunting Club, founder of the first integrated Boy Scout Troupe in Arkansas and a member of the Arkansas City Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Karen Anderson of Arkansas City; two daughters, Andrea Anderson Johnson (Chris) of Southaven, Miss. and Kimberly Anderson and her fiance Adam Foster of Jonesboro, Ark.; one brother, Andy Sanford Anderson Jr. of Dumas, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Jeanette King of Arkansas City and Alice May Simpson of McGehee, Ark.; three grandchildren, Drake Anderson Johnson, Remington David Johnson and Karington Paige Johnson. Services for Mr. Anderson will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22nd at the Arkansas City Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Gregory officiating. Visitation will be at Griffin Funeral Service in McGehee Sunday, Aug. 21 from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to Shriners Hospitals or the Gideon's International.
