Michael Edward Hines, 57, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, August 20th 2011. He was the son of the late Edward I. and Dorothy P. Hines of Little Rock. He is survived by his son, Robert E. Hines and daughter-in-law Cheri Hines of Little Rock; his brother Charles Hines and sister, Robyn Hines Hall, both of Little Rock. Three nieces and one nephew, Holly Elliott, Haley Dutton, Cassidy Dutton, and Ryan Hall all of Little Rock and his two granddogs, Shadow Bass and Sandy Beach Hines. Michael "Mike" graduated from Catholic High School for Boys in 1972. He retired after 30 years in the food service industry where he owned and operated numerous restaurant locations including Minute Man, TCBY and Subway. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He was also passionate about classic automobiles and antique lure collecting with his son. Mike was a lovable man who could make anyone smile. The family would like to thank the amazing team of Doctors and Nurses at the UAMS ICU for their compassion and dedication. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Catholic High School for Boys, 6300 Fr. Tribou St., Little Rock, Ark. 72205 or the charity of their choice. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 24th in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock (501) 661-9111 with Msgr. Lawrence Frederick, officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening (Tuesday) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
