George Felix Buchanan, Sr.

George Felix Buchanan Sr. age 79, of Weslaco, Texas went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 20, 2011. He was born April 26, 1932 in Garden City, Missouri to the late James Buchanan and Mary Fox Buchanan. He was a retired United States Air Force Veteran serving during Korea and Vietnam his career military lasted from 1957 until 1973. He belonged to the VFW and to the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Jane Buchanan, a brother, W.C. Buchanan, sisters, Audrey Sieker, and Dorothy Hershberger. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Ann Buchanan of Weslaco, Texas, his son, George Felix Buchanan, Jr. of Jacksonville, Arkansas, granddaughters, Jamie Buchanan and Angela Buchanan and one great-grandchild, Sammie Buchanan, step-grandchildren, brothers in-law Harold Johnson of Weslaco, Texas, Eddie Johnson and his wife Bess of Neosho, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 9 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
