Jacob William Gottsponer age 80, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 22, 2011. He was born March 15, 1931, in St. Vincent, Arkansas, a son of Joseph Gottsponer and Caroline Vetter Gottsponer. Mr. Gottsponer was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a veteran of the National Guard, was an industrial factory supervisor, Eucharistic Minister and minister to the sick for 24 years, Pre-Cana where he spoke on topics, Co-coordinator of Pre-Cana along with his wife, Chairman of Sacred Heart Cemetery for 10 years. He also was a Past Faithful Navigator of 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, was Purser Chancellor 3rd degree, Family Activity Chairman 3rd degree for two years, former Sacred Heart School Board Member, National Delegate with Woodman of the World in Omaha, Nebraska for the last six years. Jacob loved the outdoors and traveling in his camper. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bertha Siebenmorgen Gottsponer of Morrilton; daughter, Donna (Tim) Payne of Morrilton and their children, Eric and wife Dana Payne of Atkins, and Kyle Payne of Morrilton; three sons, Kenneth (Terrie) Gottsponer of Morrilton, and their children Brittany and Kourtney, and Danny (Cindy) Gottsponer of Morrilton and their children, Rebecca, Adam, and Philip, Kevin (Laura) Gottsponer of Morrilton and their children, Brock and Callie; three great-grandchildren, Breana, Mikaela, and Madisyn; three brothers, Carl of Dover, Herman of Morrilton, and Louis of St. Vincent; three sisters, Sr. Mary Gottsponer of Chatawa, Mississippi, Theresa Owens of St. Louis, Missouri, and Clara Acklin of Morrilton. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Payne; two brothers, Oscar and Joseph Jr.; and one sister, Catherine Victory. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Charles Thessing and Father Jim Burnie officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, August 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rosary following at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Endowment Fund.
