Michael "Mickey" Earl Williams, age 69, of Nashville, went to his eternal rest on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in Nashville. He was born September 12, 1941 in Dierks, Arkansas to the late Rufus Earl and Violet Elizabeth Chambers Williams. In July 2003 after 39 years he retired from the cement industry. He graduated Henderson College where he earned a BA Degree. While in college he took a leave of absence to enter the United States Marine Corp as a Reservist with a six year commitment. In August 1963 he married the love of his life Nobie Ann Hill Williams. Mickey always said that she was my best friend and influenced my life. After 33 years of a wonderful marriage he lost Nobie Ann in 1996. Mickey was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nashville, he loved golfing and was a member of the Nashville Country Club. Mickey also was an avid bird hunter. He loved the Razorbacks and working his cross word puzzles. He loved sitting on the patio, firing up the grill and having friends and neighbors over for dinner. He always said to his friends," feel free to drop by anytime." As did his wife, Mickey loved his community and supported it in any way he could, in the 70's he was the President of the Nashville Jaycees and also served as a state officer. During Mickey's and Nobie Ann's marriage a wonderful joy came to their life, two sons who they dearly cherished; Ken and later John Williams, then later on two wonderful daughter-in-laws, Marcella and Maxine, and then finally what both of them had always wanted, their five grandchildren; Jacey, Cole, Jaden, Jack and Cooper. Mickey cherished every moment of life to the fullest. He will be truly missed by his family and all of his friends. His family invites you to cherish the memories of his life on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Nashville with Bro. Jimmy Dale officiating. His interment will follow in Nashville Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m. You may send the family an online sympathy message to www.nashvillefh.com.
