Howard Wallace Morris

Howard Wallace Morris, 81, of Ulm, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Springhill Baptist in North Little Rock. Mr. Morris was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Almyra to Robert Harris Morris and Wilma Dell Findley Morris. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was past commander of the local VFW and past state safety commander. He recently gained membership to the North Little Rock American Legion. He was a farmer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Loretta Morris; two infant brothers; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Marie Gill Morris. Survivors are two sons, Robert (Kathy) Morris of Ulm and Howard "Shorty" Morris of Stuttgart; two daughters, Vera (Dennis) Doepel and Catherine Sue Morris, both of Ulm; two grandsons, Matthew "Moochie" Morris of Ulm and Craig Doepel (Amber) of Monticello; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Corley and Eden Corley of Ulm. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
