John L. Faryewicz Sr. of Sherwood, Arkansas, 81, left our arms for the arms of his heavenly Father on November 28, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores. He was a committed husband, a father of five, a faithful Christian, and successful businessman. His wife and children will remember him for his love and commitment to the institution of marriage, his practical jokes, one liners "according to dad", his disciplined faith to Catholicism, his fried chicken, biscuits and gravy and corny jokes. His friends will remember his competitive nature in everything he did, from cards to golf. He will be remembered by many of his golfing buddies for his talent, including 13 holes in one, and his love for the game. He will also be remembered by many in the investment arena for establishing one of the first municipal bond businesses in Little Rock. He was president and owner of Delta Securities, with offices in Little Rock and on Wall Street, founder and president of Faryewicz & Associates, as well as owner of Sherwood Glass & Mirror from 1991 to 2001. John was the father of five children. JoAnn McNeely of Aurora, Illinois, married to Steve McNeely, Carol Faryewicz Bishop of North Little Rock, Arkansas, married to Robert Bishop, John Leon Faryewicz, Jr. of Conway Arkansas, James Reynolds Faryewicz of Plano, Texas, married to Bebe Faryewicz. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, David Quinton Faryewicz. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jimmy Faryewicz of Plano, Texas, Val Faryewicz of Austin, Texas and Conner John Bishop of North Little Rock, Arkansas. In addition, he is survived by Marc Brooks of Reno, Nevada, his brother Frank "Sonny" Faryewicz and sister, Marie Renshaw, both of North Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Sophia Faryewicz of North Little Rock. Visitation will be at North Little Rock Funeral Home, Thursday, December 1st from 6 to 7 p.m. with a rosary to follow. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, December 2nd, 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Little Rock. He will be laid to rest at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, North Little Rock immediately following the mass.
