Robert E. Spaulding, 74, of North Little Rock, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011. He was born January 17, 1937 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late George R. and Imo Cole Spaulding. Robert was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Albert Pike Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies, Eastern Star and Past Grand Royal Patron of Arkansas Order of Amaranth. He was retired from Employment Security Division of Arkansas and was an ordained Cumberland Presbyterian Minister. He is survived by is wife of 33 years, Nancy Thorne Spaulding; three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Preator and Shane of Little Rock, Penny Watson and Brent of Redfield and Kathy Powell of Atlanta, Georgia; three sons, George Robert Spaulding of Kansas; David Spaulding of Joplin, Missouri and Samuel Spaulding of Little Rock; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by all that knew him as a kind and gentle soul. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock, 1601 Marshall Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170, with the Rosary following at 7 p.m. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
