Bessie Ruth Lewis

Bessie Ruth Lewis, age 84, of Buckner, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011. Mrs. Lewis was born March 18, 1927, in Magnolia, Arkansas, to William and Ruth Jackson. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Stamps, Arkansas. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by four brothers, Owen Jackson, Willis Jackson, Youman Jackson, and Leslie Jackson; one sister, Nora Smith; and one great granddaughter, MacKenzie Elizabeth Grimmett. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles Wallace Lewis Jr.; son, Winston Lewis and wife, Rita Kaye of Buckner, Ark.; daughter, Nancy Grimmett and husband, Willie Kent of Stamps, Ark.; brother, Robert Henry Jackson of El Dorado, Ark.; sisters, Helen Ray of Texarkana, Texas, Corine O'Dell of Hope, Ark., Hazel Marie Waddell of Sherwood, Ark.; grandchildren, Lynette Black and husband, Joey of Stamps, Ark., Vince Grimmett and wife, Wendy of Buckner, Ark., Janet Wray and husband, Donald of Waldo, Ark., Robbie Camp and husband, Bradley of Buckner, Ark., and Charles Lewis of Shreveport, La.; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Arkansas with Bro. William Smith, Bro. Ernie Sorrells, and Bro. W.D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Stamps, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Ark.
