JE Scribner, 89, of Fayetteville, formerly of Marshall, died Monday, December 5, 2011 in Fayetteville. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma on March 31, 1922, the son of Andy Greene and Mary Elephair Taylor Scribner. He was the 10th of 11 children born to this union. He served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a painter, farmer and owned and operated a charcoal making business in Searcy County near Harriet. He enjoyed hunting throughout his life, especially deer hunting and killed his last deer at age 87. JE was preceded in death by Irene Scribner, his wife of over 47 years, on January 10, 1994. He is survived by his children, one daughter, Patricia Vo and husband Kien of Fayetteville, N.C., two sons, Michael and wife Linda of Rogers, Joseph and wife Tammy of Farmington, four grandchildren, Hayley Portmann, AJ Scribner, Benjamin Vo and Christopher Vo. Visitation will be 6 till 8 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall. Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam.
