Linda Beatrice Godfrey Mullins

Linda Beatrice Godfrey Mullins (June 14, 1929 – Dec. 9, 2011) Linda passed peacefully from her home into the loving arms of Jesus Christ and her beloved youngest son, Perry Mullins, who preceded her in death. With steadfast, lifelong faith in Jesus, she left a world of cares and infirmity for an everlasting home without pain or sorrow. Linda was a devoted wife and mother who raised three sons to successful manhood. No mother had more abiding love or pride for her children. When they grew up, she proved herself an entrepreneur and savvy business woman as a market researcher and landlord. Linda had a spirited, outgoing personality and a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh, socialize, and have fun. She was an avid bridge player, and a fine golfer who was active in the LRAFB Ladies Golf Association and once won their 9-hole championship flight. Linda's generous and compassionate nature touched many people, and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and others who knew her. Survivors include Linda's husband of 63 years, Wiley Mullins; son, Ronald Mullins, wife, Mary Mullins, grandson, Chris Mullins; son, Gregory Mullins, wife, Alison Mullins, grandson, Conor Mullins; brother, Van Godfrey; sister, Delores Grisham; and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding Linda in death were her parents, Charles and Mable Godfrey, and sisters Allene Dunn, Charlene Trevino, Carolyn Nieber, and Vondell Sheridan. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, at First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m., at New Hope Cemetery, at the junction of highways 274 and 203 in Calhoun County, within sight of her birthplace.
