Tommy "Tomkat" Markham, 60, of Hensley, born Jan. 10, 1951, to Paul and Mary Markham, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents. An Arkansas country boy, Tommy understood the value of and relished a simple life: river fishing; sharing his garden's harvest; the fun of fixing anything broken; plus, helping solve everyone's troubles. Truck driving paid the bills. Once, he paused to change a lady's tire and he wound up giving her his heart. Tommy and Kathy were married for 30 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, life member of VFW Post 10442. If you didn't get to meet Tommy, he'll be hanging around Heaven, oiling a hinge on The Pearly Gates, passing out baskets of Manna, and waiting for you to join him and his best friend, Jesus. Thomas is survived by his wife, Kathy Markham. He is also survived by a sister, Paula Anderson. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Baseline Christian Church with service to follow at 11. Cremation will follow the service. Suggested Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to "TOMKAT" Memorial Fund, 25502 Sunshine Lane, Hensley, Ark., 72065. To sign his guestbook, please visit www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
