Eli Tejera Perez

Eli Tejera Perez Sr., 75, of Ward, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 11, 2011. He was born August 6, 1936 in Magueyes, Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, to the late Oscar and Silvestra Tejera Perez. Eli was a member of Jesus Name Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Beebe and the American Legion Searcy Post 0350. He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed by American Motors for 31 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Oscar Perez and three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Digna Perez, his children, Eli Perez, Jr., Roy Perez, Denise Whitfield, Doris Perez, David Perez, Danny Perez, Lynette Green and Renny Perez, 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at The Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 505 N. Apple Street in Beebe. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the church with Bishop Dr. John Scheel and Pastor Jason E. Scheel officiating.
