James M. Lucas

James M. Lucas, age 81, of Damascus, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. He was born November 7, 1930, in Little Rock, Ark.AR to Francis and Nettie Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Armand and Merlin Lucas. He was US Navy veteran. He retired after 43 years as a printer at Democrat, Printing & Lithograph. He's a member of Southside Baptist Church in Damascus. He loved his wife, children, grand-children and great grand children with a passion unmatched by any man. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Carolyn; three children, Angee Lessenberry (Bill), Dan Lucas (Janice), Tammy Haggard (Scott); five grandchildren, Jeremy (Jordyn) & Courtney Lessenberry, Stephanie (Justin) Lessel, Caid and Jacob Lucas; six great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob and Luke Lessel and Mailelani, Noa and Kai Lessenberry, along with numerous nieces & nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and nurses at Conway Regional for their care and support while Jim was there. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Friday from 12-1 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society or animal care organization of your choice.
