Denver Lee Shuffield

Denver Lee Shuffield, age 89, of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011. He was born October 7, 1922 in Bismarck, Arkansas the son of the late Herman and Era Thomas Shuffield. Denver was the retired farm manager for Reynolds Metal Co. Patterson plant, a U. S. Army World War II veteran and a member of Third Street Baptist Church. He loved and enjoyed dancing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Floy Jean Allen Shuffield; one daughter, Judy Armstrong; four brothers, John, J. D., Clinton and Denzil Shuffield and one sister, Relda Joyce Shuffield. Survivors are two daughters, Wanda (Troy) Runyan of Arkadelphia, Brenda (Clarence) Durand of Hot Springs; two sisters, Novella Hardage of Malvern, Jean Prince of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 18th at DeRoche Cemetery near Bismarck with Bro. James Calhoun officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Sunday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, December 30th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Bro. James Calhoun officiating.
