Verba Clarrean McFalls

Verba Clarrean McFalls, 88, of Star City, died Thursday, at her home. She was born June 22, 1923, in Lincoln County, to the late Joshua and Clara Eva Dodds Robertson. She received her education in a one-room schoolhouse in the Butler Community near Star City. She worked at Herb's Shoe Store for several years and afterward, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Crigler Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed making quilts for competitions, gardening, sewing, and baking. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Lee McFalls; infant son, Robert David McFalls; six sisters, Nelma Robertson, Anna Belle Hamilton, Lura Mae McEntire, Novie Summerford, Winnie Dennington, Ola Stewart; and three brothers, Bill Robertson, Orvie Robertson, Hubert Robertson. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Lee Montgomery and husband David, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and her granddaughter, Kelsey Montgomery, of Washington, D.C. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Crigler Missionary Baptist Church. Bro. David Leopard will officiate. Visitation is from 6 - 8 p.m., Sunday, at Griffin Funeral Service.
