Chief Master Sergeant A.L. (LEE) FOSTER, 82 of McNeil, Ark. passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at his home in McNeil. He was born on Aug. 16, 1929 in Village, Ark. to the late Roy Lee and Lillie Mae (McDermott) Foster. He served his country in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Air Force then taught at Camden Fairview Career Center where he also retired from as well as his retirement from the McNeil Rural Fire Department. Lee also served for a number of years on the Columbia County Quorum Court and was a member of the Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Foster; infant daughter, Karen Foster; three sisters, Jessie Mae Rudd, Viola Pharr and Leona McKay; and a brother, Tommy Foster. He was married to his wife of 63 years to the day, Jackie Foster; two daughters, Kay Smith and husband Jimmy, Diane Cary all of McNeil; an adopted daughter, Kathy Wright of McNeil; one son David Foster and wife Rhonda of Rogers, Ark.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other family members. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with David Lovejoy officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
