Emma Jean Sledge

Emma Jean Wooten Sledge, age 89, of Springfield passed away Dec. 16, 2011. She was born May 27, 1922 in Martinville, Ark. to Lonnie L. and Lucille Williamson Wooten. She was a member of the Portland Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Romie Sledge Sr.; son, R.G. Sledge Jr. of Springfield; brother, Roy L. Wooten of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Portland Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Lindy Davis officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Creek Cemetery near Springfield by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19 at the funeral home.
