Danny Carroll Heflin, 53, of Rowell, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 17 after fighting a lengthy illness. He was born April 28, 1958 to Margaret Kimbrell Rawls and the late Carroll Heflin. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School and devoted 30 years to the Arkansas Department of Correction before retiring in September 2011. He attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church regularly and enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his grandchildren. Danny is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Warren Heflin, whom he married Dec. 5, 1981; along with his children Kristina (Preston) Johnson, Michael (Melissa) Heflin, Daniel (Jana) Heflin, and Kaycee Trantham Heflin; grandchildren Aidan Johnson, Landon Johnson, Tyler Gulledge, Josh Gulledge, Luke Heflin and Blake Heflin; all of Woodlawn. He is also survived by his mothers, Margaret of Woodlawn, and Dorothy Yokley of Pine Bluff; grandmother, Maggie Kimbrell of Star City, brother, Stevie Heflin of Pine Bluff; sisters Debra Williams of Mountain View, Kathy Boultinghouse of Woodlawn, Ramona Huante of Star City, and Tammie Huante of Grady, and a large bunch of nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father Carroll, stepmother, JoAnn Heflin, grandmother, Lena Heflin, grandfathers, Z.T. Kimbrell and Willie Neal Heflin, brother Rusty Heflin and sister Paula Rawls. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 6-8 pm at Ralph Robinson & Son in Pine Bluff. The family will be at 360 Parker Loop in Woodlawn (Rison). Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Center Missionary Baptist Church, with Brother Matt Donnell officiating. Burial will follow in Rowell Cemetery. Pallbearers are Greg Spakes, Mark Wilmoth, Clarence Cheney, David Knott, Steven Barrett, Scott Puddephatt, Doug Boultinghouse and Wade Hall.
