Mr. John Loyd "J.L." Person of Tuckerman died Friday, December 16, 2011. He was born August 7, 1927 the son of John and Belle (Simpson) Person. Mr. Person retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a Track Foreman after 42 years of service. He was a member of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church where he was also a Deacon and a Trustee on the board. Mr. Person enjoyed working in his salvage yard, gardening and working in his yard. He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Johnson) Person; two sons, Jim "Bad News" Barnes and McKinley Person; one daughter, Alice Ruth Person; his parents; five brothers and sisters and son-in-law, Garry Metcalf. Mr. Person is survived by two sons, Leonard Person and special friend Enger Mobley of Washington, D.C. and Paul Person and wife Kaye B. of Tuckerman, Arkansas; two daughters, Nancy Runion of Newport, Arkansas and Cordia Metcalf; six grandchildren, Claudette Barnes, Shannah Barnes, Thelma Metcalf Forte', Lea Kristy Metcalf, Skye Metcalf Do and Graylon Person; one great grandchild, Mia Forte' and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday at the St. Paul A.M.E Church with Rev. Herschel Richerson Jr., Rev. Herbert Wilson, Rev. Therman Walker, Rev. Eddie Hill and Rev. Cleo Collier officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5-7 p.m. Pallbearers will be Montell Love, Orlando Love, Greg Love, Phil Love, Maurice Watson and Jeff Person. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Person, Graylon Person, Tracy Forte', Gary Do, Henry Porter, Jerry Person, Ken Brown, Theopolis Barnes, Michael Justice and Rail Road Co Workers.
