Dora Jewell Staats

Dora Jewell Staats, a near lifelong resident of Stuttgart, passed away Monday around 10:30 p.m. at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock after suffering an ongoing battle of several years with congestive heart failure. She was born August 19, 1922, at Bayou Meto, Arkansas, to William and Halley Garrison. She was one of 12 siblings. She was preceded in death by her baby daughter, Rebecca Jane Staats. She is survived by her sisters, Jane (Guy) Hahs of Stuttgart and Cleo Bright of Macon, Missouri; brother, Johnny (Lou) Garrison of Sterling, Illinois; son, Ray Allen (Shauna) Staats of Little Rock; granddaughters, Christen (Derrick) McGowan of Bella Vista and Heidi Raye (Chriss) Jordan of Stuttgart; grandsons, John Allen Staats and Charles Ray Staats of Little Rock; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
