H. Doyle Jones

H. Doyle Jones, 90, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, December 19, 2011. He was born in Jerusalem, Arkansas, on July 3, 1921, the son of Willie and Vera Jones. Doyle was a past president of the Bank of Keo, an original board member of Central Arkansas Christian Schools in North Little Rock, and past president of the North Little Rock Civitan, and a past board member of Arkansas Industrial Machinery, Inc., and a member of the Arkansas Cattlemans Association of Faulkner County. Mr. Jones was a veteran of WWII and the Korean conflict; a former member of 6th & Izard Church of Christ and an original member of North Oak Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon. He was retired from Stephens Inc. and T.J. Raney, Morgan Keegan. Doyle is survived by a son, Doug Jones and his wife Deborah; a daughter, Nancy Jones; three granddaughters, Lauren Gonzalez, Aliceson Jones and Tori Jones; a sister-in-law, Mary Cowan; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vona Jones, and a sister, Ann Lafferty. Visitation was Thursday, December 22 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were Friday, December 23 at 10 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel, Searcy.
