Robert "Bob" Louis Fenelon

Robert "Bob" Louis Fenelon, age 82, passed away at home on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 with family by his side. Bob was born in Rhinelander, Wis., the son of Louis and Lenore Fenelon. Upon graduation from Iowa State University, he joined Shell Chemical Company in Houston. Shortly after joining Shell Chemical, Bob began serving his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a member of the team that made the selection of NATO air base locations in western Europe. Upon completion of his military tour, he rejoined Shell Chemical Company. He worked with Shell in Houston, New York, Emeryville, Calif., Los Angeles and Marietta, Ohio. He joined Crawford & Russell, Inc. at their Stamford, Conn. office as a project manager, and was promoted to the position of vice president of operations for their Houston office. After Crawford & Russell was purchased by John Brown, Bob served as executive vice-president of John Brown E&C Houston's center office and was responsible for five regional Midwest engineering offices and their operational units until his retirement in 1992. In 1993, Bob moved from Galveston, Texas to Hot Springs Village, Ark., where he was an active member of the tennis community and served on several POA committees. Bob was a member of Christ of The Hills United Methodist Church and active in the Emmaus community. He enjoyed traveling with this spouse and spending time with family. Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jo Ann Fenelon; his children, Monica DeBord (Randy), Christopher Fenelon (Kathleen), Mark Fenelon, Brian Fogarty, Lawrence Fogarty and Lori Carnes (Jay); and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Christ of The Hills United Methodist Church, 700 Balearic Road, Hot Springs Village, Ark. 71909.
