Ken Ball

Ken Ball, 63, lifetime Fayetteville resident, died peacefully at home on Christmas Eve December 24, 2011. Ken was born on August 20, 1948 in Tulsa, OK to E. J. and Gladys Russell Ball. He was a 1966 graduate of Fayetteville High School. He then graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in accounting and founded his own accounting firm which he ran until his death. Ken was a humanitarian and was active in the community through his service to multiple organizations. He served on the Board of Directors of Decision Point for many years, giving numerous hours to that institution and the people it served. He was tireless in his devotion to assisting others, never saying no when called to work. He was an avid Razorback fan, he served as President of the Fayetteville High School Booster Club where he was instrumental in fundraising to refurbish Harmon field, and was also a former treasurer of the board of directors for the Pagnozzi Charities. Ken touched the hearts of innumerable lives through the years. He will be remembered by family and friends for his big heart, his good nature, and kind spirit to all people. Besides providing for his own children and family, he was a mentor to many young athletes across the state. Some of Ken's happiest years were spent with the "Arkansas Hawks" organization where he devoted countless hours instilling leadership and supporting educational values to help mold these young men for their future. He is survived by his mother Gladys: his son Ben; sister Kathy Ball and Barry Herzog; sister Karen Ball and husband Tate Wolf, Uncle James Ball, nephew Slade Adams, and niece Amanda Adams, step children; Bryn Young D'Agastino, Tate Young and Johnny Borkins. Special thanks to his friend and caregiver, Brenda Morgan. Cremation arrangements were by Moore's Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Lowell E. Grisham and Rev. Suzanne Stoner officiating. Honorary Pallbearers: Greg Smith, Jim Stocker, David Johnson, J.R. Arnold, Bo Morton, Tommy Young & Ross Burdette.
