Mary Julia Mitchell

Mary Julia Mitchell, 66, of Little Rock, passed away December 27, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock; she was born on December 20, 1945 in Bryant, Arkansas; she was the daughter of Corbit Lawhon and Lucille Greer-Lawhon. Mary loved singing in the church and working on arts and crafts, and helping people, she will be remembered for how it seemed as though she never met a stranger. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 51 years Reverend Bobby A. Mitchell; daughters Bobbie Johnson and husband Allen and Mistie Floyd and husband David; grandchildren Dylan Foster, Tanner Foster, Landon Floyd, Rickey Floyd, Shelby Floyd, Mandy Carter, Austin Carter, Brandy Sanders, Luke Sanders, and Allen Johnson Jr.; six great-grandchildren; a sister Pat Pope-Joy; a brother Bill Lawhon; and numerous other friends and family members. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at East End Assembly of God with burial following at Salem Cemetery in East End.
