Aleta "Gale" Seliskar,of Morrilton, passed away December 28th, 2010 at the age of 64. She was born December 16th, 1946 in Hector, Arkansas to Doyle and Maxine Dean. Her husband, Bill Seliskar of Morrilton, and her father, Doyle Dean, preceded her in death. Gale graduated from West Leyden High School in Northlake, Illinois in 1965. She was the owner of Cat Claws, a company she and her husband Bill founded in Illinois in 1986, and relocated to Morrilton, Arkansas in 1993. Gale and Bill were philanthropists who believed in sharing their company's success with the community, and in 2003, their company was honored by the Arkansas Community Foundation as an Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation. Gale was a devoted member of the St. Anthony's Ladies Auxiliary, the Friends of the Library, and the Literary Coterie. In 2007, she received the Gordon-Loh award for her outstanding service and contributions to the Conway County Library. Gale was known for her generous heart, her fun loving spirit and the best macaroni and cheese around. Her strength and zest for life was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be remembered always. Survivors include her mother, Maxine Dean of Appleton, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Pete Zambrzycki of Morrilton, Arkansas, and Ginger and Charles Bussey of McDonough, Georgia; three sisters, Cheryl Hamilton of Morrilton, Diann Stanek and Debi Brown both of Appleton, Arkansas; a brother, Brad Dean of Glendale Heights, Illinois; four grandsons, Greg and Dean Engstrom both of McDonough, Georgia and Jake and Pete Zambrzycki both of Morrilton, Arkansas; three step-grandsons, Brett, Blake and Blaine Bussey of Georgia; a step-granddaughter Brooke Shannon of Austin, Texas; two great granddaughters, Ansley and Chloe Engstrom both of McDonough Georgia; and two step-great granddaughters, Grace and Mercy Shannon of Austin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Gale's life will be held on Friday, January 7th at the Rialto in Morrilton, Arkansas from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gale's name to the Friends of the Library, 101 West Church St., Morrilton, or to the St. Anthony's Foundation, 4 Hospital Drive, Morrilton. The family also wishes to thank the staff at St. Anthony's for the wonderful care and thoughtful accommodations Gale received. Services by Bob Neal & Sons, Morrilton.
