Alan Roger Baxley

Alan Roger Baxley of Alexander passed away at the age of 58 on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at his home. He was born August 13, 1952 in Benton, Arkansas and served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He was a security guard at Dillard's Corporate Headquarters in Little Rock. Mr. Baxley was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. Baxley and Katherine Pratt Baxley; two sisters, Jewell Baxley and Eleanor Southworth; two brothers, Bruce Baxley and Raymond Baxley, and a niece, Kelley Page. Survivors include two sisters; Norma Lentz and husband Stephen of Rowlett, Texas and Jeannette Kemp of Hot Springs; one brother, Ralph Edward Baxley of Hot Springs, seven nephews, and four nieces. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Alexander First Baptist Church with Rev. Boe Dickey officiating with interment in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Bauxite. Serving as pallbearers are Grady Ray Neighbors, Howard Neighbors, Mark Avant, Stephen Lentz, Charles Ray Baxley, and Terry Malott. Honorary pallbearer is John L. Baxley. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday evening, January 5th, 2011 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047).
