Marion Whittington Gober

Marion Whittington Gober, 82, of McGehee, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 3, 2011. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Griffin funeral Home, McGehee, Arkansas. Graveside services will also be on January 5, 2011 at Union Ridge Cemetery in Monticello, Arkansas, at 3 p.m., Reverend Bud Banks officiating. Ms. Gober served as President of the Arkansas Chapter of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge player and was in love with her family and life. She was a passionate supporter of the disabled veterans. Preceded in death by her loving husband; William Ernest Gober, her parents; Charles Christopher and Eula Lee Whittington. Three sisters, Marie Whittington-McClendon, Maude Emily Whittington-Durham, Elma Lee Whittington-Harris and Charles C. Whittington. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria J. Lawson (Dodie) (Sonny) of Brandon, Miss., Patricia (Patty) (Tony) Roberts of Grove Hill, Ala.: one son, William Kenneth (Kenny) (Melissa) Gober of McGehee, Ark.; six grandchildren: Stephanie (Gayden) McAlpin, Tricia (Greg) Flasck, Jimmie (Stephanie) Moore II, Andrea DeVasier, Sarah Brooke Gober and Mary Emily Gober and seven great grandchildren; two sisters; Mary (Roy) Spillman, Inez Sellers, one brother, William H.
