Clover B. Gibson

Clover B. Gibson, 104, of Hot Springs died January 2, 2011. She was born October 28, 1906 in Jenny Lind, Arkansas to the late James William and Abigail Hurst Blevins. She was a Cockpit Inspector Class A with Douglas Aircraft during the War years in Tulsa, Oklahoma; moved to Hot Springs in July of 1947 with her daughters, Sandra Lee Shipp and Clover Ann Shipp; married Claude Gibson December 21, 1948; they were members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and served as sponsors the Episcopal Young Churchman. Mrs. Gibson was a Medical Secretary; Municipal Court Clerk; Executive Secretary, Convention Manager and Assistant Manager of the Velda Rose. She was Past President of the Business and Professional Women's Club, Past State President Charter 20 & Past International President of the Hotel-Motel Greeters International and a member of the Virginia Clinton Kelly Birthday Club. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Claude Gibson on November 3, 2000; three brothers, Ernest Blevins, Grady Blevins & Basil Blevins and one sister, Gladys Schnorr. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra S. Carlisle of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Clover Ann Orfanos of Hot Springs; six grandchildren & spouses, Kim Carlisle & Sam Ratliff of Fayetteville, Sandy Carlisle & Sam Aldern of Fort Collins, Colorado, Leslie Carlisle & Scott Benson of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Lee Ann Longinotti & Scott Crawley of Dallas, Texas, Steve & Lisa Longinotti of Little Rock, David & Regina Longinotti of Hot Springs; three great-granddaughters; six great grandsons; two step great grandson; two step great granddaughters; three great-great grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 10th at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Reverend CB Baker officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
