Artie Johnson

Artie Johnson of Conway, AR formerly of Pine Bluff passed away on January 2, 2011 in Conway, AR. She was born April 18, 1926 in Humphrey, Arkansas to the late James and Addie Colen. She was an excellent seamstress and worked as a Nurse's Aid, Teacher's Assistant and Home Health Care Provider. She established her home and raised her family in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where she was a member of First Trinity Church of God In Christ. She was preceded in death by sons Lee Cartis Wright, Jr, Ben Johnson III, three brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include Jean Wright, Michael Johnson, Gale Johnson-Peltier (Francis), Richard Johnson, YeJuanda Johnson-Ogeto, Curtis Ray Johnson (Kara), Addie Johnson (Michael), 13 grandchildren, 3 great-Granddaughters, and a sister, Lucille Powell Fort. A memorial service will be held today at Greater Trinity COGIC, 2400 Wright Ave. in Little Rock from 7-8 pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1 p.m. at First Trinity COGIC in Pine Bluff, Ark. The body will lie in state from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m. Interment will follow in Forrest Lawn Cemetery by Christian Way Funeral Home.
