Cassie S. Bradford

Mrs. Cassie S. Bradford died January 3, 2011 in Pine Bluff. Born August 7, 1914 in Camden, she was the daughter of Ms. Ozie Ella Smith and John Reed. She attended Camden Schools and graduated from Dunbar High School in Little Rock in 1932, and from AM&N College (now UAPB) in 1950. She was married to Alfred Jasper Shootes in 1934 and later to Clifford Smith Bradford in 1956. Mrs. Bradford taught in Arkansas Public schools for 46 years and retired from Carver Elementary School in Camden in 1977. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Camden where Rev. H. Earl Anderson is Pastor. Mrs. Bradford is survived by her daughter, Alfreda Joyce (Robert) Hill of Pine Bluff; two grandsons, Michael vonEric Hill of Durham, North Carolina and Ryan Christopher (Darlene) Hill of Cheverly, Maryland; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Ryanne Hill; Godson, Julius C. (Carolyn) Haynie of Willliamsburg, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Edward Lee Bradford of Los Angeles, Calif. and Pauline Bradford of Portland, Ore.; brother-in-law, Ray Bradford of Los Angeles; nieces, nephews, cousins, her extended family, former students and friends. Services will be held at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Camden on Monday, January 10, 2011. Visitation will be Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 1-5:00 p.m. Arrangements by Williams Funeral Home in Camden.
