William (Billy) Akin

William (Billy) Akin, 64,of North Little Rock, born April 13th, 1946 to James K. and Mary Elizabeth Akin, passed away on January 9th, 2011. Billy grew up in the Rixy community of North Little Rock where his parents operated a general mercantile store called "Jim's Market." Billy was one of seven "clients" when Pathfinder's was started and loved to attend their workshops and especially loved to cash his pay checks, sometimes only for $1.50. He is preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and fraternal grandparents, and a brother, James Walker Akin. He is survived by two loving cousins, Jimmie Lou (Harry) Hulett and Dianne Wilson, cousins, Frank Hulett, Jerry Hulett, Tom (Susan) Wilson, Zach Hulett, Chase Hulett, Jessica Hulett and Candace Hulett, two nephews, James H. Akin and Christopher Akin and a host of friends at Lakewood Nursing Home. He will be fondly remembered for his loving personality and impromptu dancing to Elvis songs. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 at the Bayou Meto Cemetery in Jacksonville.
