Ferrel Dean Launius

Ferrel Dean Launius, 78, of Bearden died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at his home. He was born October 18, 1932 in Holly Springs, Arkansas. Ferrel served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Bearden First Assembly of God Church in Bearden. He was retired from Highland Industrial Park in East Camden and was also former Mayor of Bearden. He was preceded in death by his parents Nollie and Mary Walker Launius, wife, Virginia Jones Launius; brothers, N.L. Launius, Nolan Launius, Algie Folden Launius and one sister, Evalena Mizell. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Judy Launius of Bearden; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Randy Elliott of Ozan, Ark.; three brothers, Weldon Launius of Dalzell, S.C., Lamar Launius of Scottsdale, Ariz., Carroll Launius of Germantown, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Zach Launius of Bryant, Aubrey Horstkamp and husband Ernie of Bearden, Jillian Alfaro and husband Kendall of Benton, Cody Elliott of Ozan; four great-grandchildren, Drew Horstkamp, Peyton Horstkamp, Justin Horstkamp and Zach Craig all of Bearden. Visitation will be Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday at Bearden First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wayne McGuire and Rev.
