Joe Alan Flye, 65, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at home in Little Rock. The heavens won't know what hit them! Artistically gifted and very funny, Joe was brilliant. His knowledge of retail design and landscape will never be matched. He saw beauty and comfort in nature and always brought these elements into his work. Joe had passion for music and was poetry in motion on the dance floor. Born August 21, 1945, in Paragould, Arkansas, to the late Inez and A.B. Flye. Joe is preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Jill Henson Flye. Survived by son, Joseph Henson Flye and wife June W. Flye of Little Rock, brothers, Bill Fly of Stephenville, Texas, Bobby Flye and wife Naomi of Paragould, Arkansas, and sister, Joyce Dailey and husband Bill of Benton, Arkansas, six nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and nephews. Joe leaves his long time friend and companion, George Burns, and countless others who loved him dearly. A graduate of Paragould High, Joe attended Arkansas State University and served in the U.S. Air Force. His interior design career spanned from early days with John Simmons and Furniture a la Carte to most recently Cobblestone and Vine. He will be missed. A service celebrating Joe's life is planned for 3 p.m., Sunday, January 16, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Little Rock, Arkansas.
