Fannie Maryjane Anderson

Fannie Maryjane Sheridan Anderson, 99, of Searcy, Arkansas, formerly of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away January 16, 2011 in Searcy. She was born January 21, 1911 in Marie, Oklahoma to Walter and Pearl Stout Sheridan. The family moved to Eastern New Mexico near the Clovis area in 1914. Fannie graduated from Clovis High School and attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. Her husband of 49 years, Edward Eugene Anderson, preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by one daughter, Zelda McMurtry, one granddaughter, Chris Ann McMurtry, both of Searcy, Arkansas; two grandsons, Curt (Heidi) McMurtry and Casey (Christine) McMurtry, three great-grandsons, Derek (Valerie) McMurtry, Kreg, and Koltin McMurtry, all of Willow, Oklahoma; and one brother, Garland (Virginia) Sheridan, of Killeen, Texas. Also, Eddie Brockman, a grandson, Jacque Martin, a granddaughter, Samantha Brockman, and Valery and Macaley Martin, great-granddaughters. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lily Sheridan, Alberta Dennington, and Bertha Welch; one brother, Floyd Sheridan; a daughter, Delores Brockman; and a niece, Judy Barnett. Fannie was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She taught Bible classes for over 70 years. She possessed a very positive attitude throughout her life. She had a deep love for people, studying the bible, and traveling. She collected dolls and friends from both near and far. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18 at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Graveside funeral services will be in Melrose, New Mexico.
