Wallace Nolen, 81, of Fort Smith, died January 16, 2011. He was born October 28, 1929 in Tucson, AZ to Hilary and Nell Vern Honea Nolen. He was retired from the Oil Field Industry, he was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and he was a member of Gideon's International. He is survived by one daughter, Robyn Marie Tate and husband Steve of Fort Smith; three sons, Danny Nolen of Fort Smith, Timothy Nolen of Olathe, Kan., and Richard Nolen of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Lois McGuire of Rome, Ga., Betty McCarty of Conway, Ark., and Jo Beth Wright of Fort Smith; one brother, Boyce Nolen of Tampa, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, Chase Nolen, Parker and Hilary Nolen, Christian & Bethany Tate, and Jake & Cole Stufflebeam all of Fort Smith and Syndey & Hayden Nolen of Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife Julia Marie Sutton Nolen. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Smith with burial to follow in the Roselawn Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
