Anna Lucile Stevens Bunch

Anna Lucile Stevens Bunch passed away peacefully Saturday January 15, 2011 in Little Rock. Born in Everton, Arkansas to Joshua Monroe and Nannie Reed Stevens. Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marie, brothers, Eugene, Glen and Elmore, husband of 58 years, Dr. William L. Bunch Jr. and by daughter-in-law, Paula Embree Bunch. She is survived by daughter, Dr. Janice L. Bunch of Memphis, Tenn.; sons, David L. Bunch of Little Rock, Ark. and Donald W. Bunch of Fayetteville and by a number of cherished nieces and nephews. Taught school in Carroll and Madison counties during the Depression and was a pioneering accountant setting up the books for the Fayetteville REA (Rural Electrification) Co-op. As a wife of a U.S. Public Health Service physician subject to transfer, her life's journey took her through seven southern states where she helped organize a school clinic, a Little League Baseball league and several Welcome Wagon groups while being a full time homemaker and mother. She was active in the UAMS Auxiliary and was always an advocate of women's education and work place rights. She also enjoyed playing music, sewing, gardening and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. The family requests donations to children's homes of choice in lieu of flowers. Family would like to thank Good Shephard Nursing Home in Little Rock for the care shown our mother during her time there. Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday at Moore's Chapel.
