Kathrine Mitchell Erwin Magruder, 94, passed away on January 16, 2011, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. Preceded in death by her parents Moses and Dana Mitchell, her husband John Ralph Erwin, her husband Harold F. Magruder, and her two sisters Wanda Jones and Juanita Keeton. Survived by four children, Kathrine Ann Erwin Nelson of Shreveport, La., John Mithell Erwin and wife Patricia of Little Rock, Ark., Linda Dane Erwin Stone and husband Jim of Collierville, Tenn., Stephen Randolph Erwin and wife Lora of Springdale, Ark., eight grand children Chip Nelson of Amarillo, Texas, Paige Nelson Wiesenthal and Nancy Nelson, both of New York, Jennifer Ashley Erwin-Ward of Columbia, S.C., Amiee Erwin-Robertson of New York, Erik Stone and Chris Stone, both of Chicago, Alex Erwin of Springdale, and two great-granddaughters, Riley Kathrine Ward and Lila Kate Wiesenthal. Ms. Magruder was a lifelong Methodist beginning at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Little Rock, and ending at First United Methodist Church in Springdale where she was a member of the United Methodist Women Circle, a volunteer for the Bread of Life. She was a volunteer and 1st secretary for Baxter Memorial Hospital, Mountain Home, Secretary to the Administrator of Methodist Hospital, Paragould, volunteer St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Secretary at Children's Hospital in Little Rock, volunteer Northwest Medical Center- Springdale, volunteer Shiloh Museum. She was a member of the Red Hat-Purple Dress club, Springdale, Bunco Club Springdale, Women's Book Club of Mountain Home. A memorial service will be held at 1st United Methodist Church of Springdale at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, and private internment will be at the National Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Little Rock.
