John W. Noles

John W. Noles Jr., 91, passed away in his home on January 18th, 2011 in North Little Rock. He was born in Alabama on May 3rd, 1919. John was a long time member of the Church of Christ where he served as deacon and elder. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII from May 3rd, 1942 to October 25th, 1945. His career was in sales. After retirement he was a greeter at Wal-Mart and traveled many miles with his grandchildren. He loved gardening, camping and was a member of Holiday Ramblers Club and a former Arkansas Chapter president. John was preceded in death by his parents John W. Noles, Sr. and Frances Lucinda (Artis), one sister Tempie and one brother, Wilburn. John is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine Griffin, of 65 years; one sister, Ethel Morris of East Corondelet, Illinois; two sons, Paul Noles (Donna) of North Little Rock, Richard Noles (Cheryl) of Aurora Colorado; one daughter, Mary Frances Daniel (Kenneth) of North Little Rock; six grandchildren, Johnathan Noles (Mary) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Amy Raney (Lauren) of Albuerque, New Mexico, John Daniel (Robin) of Tyler, Texas, Sean Noles (Kari) of Aurora, Colorado, Jennifer Daniel of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Joseph Daniel (Bethany) of McAlister, Oklahoma and a beloved nephew, Bobby Joe Noles, many other nieces and nephews and 12 great-grandchildren and his long time companion, Baby Doll his loving cocker spaniel. A celebration of John's life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501) 835-3515. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, Saturday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 N, Alexander, Ark.
