She graduated with honors from Montgomery City High School and attended University of Missouri. She joined the US Agricultural Dept. and moved to Little Rock on assignment in the early 40's, just prior to the war. There she met and married Big Jack, to whom she was a lifelong partner through the war years, Jack T. One of her most amazing feats came in a LOSS of the 1990 ASWGA State Championship to the also legendary Pam Spikes, one down on the final hole, in one of the most dramatic rounds of golf ever in the state of Arkansas. "Big Al" Fryer was 5' and 110 lbs, and 70 years of age! Alice's Hall of Fame picture hangs in the Ladies Club Room at PVCC where the popular Alice Fryer Invitational is played every year.
