Larry Paul Buffalo

Larry Paul Buffalo, 66, of Carlisle, passed away Jan. 21, 2011. He was born in Carlisle, Ark. on March 18, 1944 to Adolph and Martha Buffalo. Larry was retired from Rock Island Railroad and Carlisle Public Schools. He had a passion for teaching welding and giving godly advice to his students in the Industrial Arts Department. Larry was also proud of his Circle B Ranch and cattle that he managed with perfection. He was a member of the Lonoke Baptist Church in Lonoke. Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda Banton Buffalo, and a son Dr. Ryan Buffalo (Witsy) of Heber Springs. He loved being Poppa to his four grandchildren, Sydney Kathryn, Natalie Claire, William Ryan (Liam) and Elijah Paul (Eli). Larry is also survived by his mother, Martha Buffalo; brothers, Marvin Buffalo (Hannah), twin brother, Harry Buffalo (Nancy), Bob Buffalo (Joy); sisters Miriam McCallie (Tommy), Judy Moran (John), Marsha Ball, and a special mother-in-law, Veda Schumann. Larry was blessed with many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lonoke Baptist Church, ALS Foundation, or Carlisle Alumni Association for Scholarships. The family will receive friends at the church 12 p.m. (noon) before the service. A celebration of Larry's life will be 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24, at Lonoke Baptist Church.
