Loraine L. Rogers

LLORAINE L. ROGERS of Little Rock died Monday, January 17th, at the age of 96. Born in Chismville, Ark. to William and Hettie Loving, Mrs. Rogers and her husband, W. D. "Bill" Rogers, who passed away in 1970, were the original owners of the popular Island X Mexican Restaurant in Little Rock. She was a dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels and The Red Cross, and a devoted member of First Christian Church, where she loved quilting until the age of 90. She is survived by two daughters, Cathy DuPont and Billie Rogers, Billie's husband Dennis Smith; grandchildren John Sullivan, Cassandra Vieten, and David Luben; great-grandchildren Shelby and Travis Sullivan, Indigo Vieten, and Shelby's and Travis's mother, Donna Sullivan. She will always be remembered as a generous and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. The family has held a private memorial in her honor.
