Betty M. Pounders

On Jan. 22, 2011, Betty M. Pounders of Lonoke, peacefully passed away at Golden Years Manor. She was born in Little Rock on Nov. 15, 1926 to the late William B. and Nora B. Mosley. Betty was a member of Lonoke First United Methodist Church, the Agape Circle, Burks/Coulter Sunday School Class and Lonoke Lioness Club. She retired after 21 years from Lonoke County Farm Bureau. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, AJ Pounders, her parents, her sister, Margaret Wild, two brothers, Bill Mosley and Jim Mosley. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Goode (Jim) of Cabot, Beth Wright (Danny) of Lonoke and son Jay Pounders (Debbie) of Springdale; four grandchildren, Mike Pounders (Christy), Randy Pounders (Sarah) all of Springdale, Rachelle Russell (Jeff) of Lonoke and Katy Pratt (Jon) of Fairfield, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Morgan, Brock and Jack Pounders all of Springdale and Claire and Kate Russell of Lonoke. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Mosley of Benton, formerly of Little Rock and sister-in-law, Anne Mosley of Houston, Texas, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25 at Lonoke First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lonoke First United Methodist Church or CASA of Lonoke County. Arrangements are by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Online guestbook, www.boydfuneralhome.net. The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Years Manor for their care of our mother during the last nine years and Arkansas Hospice for their care and support the last months of her life.
