Dorothy Ione Sullivan Baker

Dorothy Ione Sullivan Baker, 85, was received into Heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2011 at Legacy House/Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. She was born in Trumann on March 25, 1925 to the late C. T. and Alice Ione Purnell Sullivan. She married James Bureatte Baker on Feb. 6, 1942 and enjoyed 64 years together traveling the world with Bureatte's job. Dot is survived by her sons, James Eric Baker and wife Liz of Cave City and Kirk Sullivan Baker and wife Joanne of El Paso; two sisters, Betty Jean Murphy and Tommye Givens and husband Charles; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Baker; six grandchildren, Josh Baker, Nick Schoenfeldt, Jessica Loan, Matt Baker, Mary Baker and Mitchell Baker; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Harrisburg Cemetery followed by a celebration service at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg at 11 a.m. with Jim West under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Tom Wimpy, Jerry Wimpy, Chip Scivicque, Merle Williams, Bradley Wimpy and Terry Wimpy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army in Jonesboro, First United Methodist Church, 204 S. Main, Harrisburg, Ark., 72432 or Legacy House/Circle of Life Hospice, 900 NE Verdant, Bentonville, Ark., 72712.
