Winona Allene Maxwell

WINONA ALLENE (JUMPER) MAXWELL, 97, went to be with her Lord Jan. 20, 2011 at Baptist Hospital. Born Dec. 26, 1913 in Allen, Okla., the only child of Arthur Phillip and Ruby Olive (Small) Jumper. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill Maxwell. Survived by four children, Margaret Hanshaw of Rogers, Mary Kizzia of Shreveport, Betty Wallace and Richard Maxwell of Little Rock. She was loved by 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Winona was employed for three years as a civil servant with the U.S. Government on Guam. While Bill served in the military including tours of duty in Japan and France. The family settled in Little Rock, she worked 15 years for Arkansas State Revenue. After retirement she volunteered 14 years in the American Red Cross. Winona was an avid quilter and served 20 years as Chairman of Quilters Art Club. Many friends and family members will cherish her beautiful quilts for years to come. Winona was dearly loved and adored by her entire family. She leaves this world with grace and contentment from a long, fruitful and fulfilled life. ‘Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.'
