Charles Henry Garner

Little Rock, AR, 1926 - 2011

Charles Henry Garner, age 84, of Little Rock, died January 23, 2011. He was born in Little Rock, Ark. to the late Malcolm and Cena Garner. After attending Little Rock schools, he served during World War II in the United States Naval Air Corps, graduated from Hendrix College in 1950, and then worked as a pharmaceutical representative for 35 years. He was married to Betty (Mebane) Garner for 60 years before her death in 2009. Mr. and Mrs. Garner were members of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
Survivors include three children, Kenneth Garner, of Little Rock, Linda Garner, of Nashville, Tenn, and Jan Garner, of Little Rock; three wonderful grandchildren, Matthew Garner (Jennifer), Michael Garner, and Erin Yamarino (Michael), all of Georgia; two beautiful great-grandchildren, Fiona and Kai Garner; and sister-in-law Linda Tripp of Little Rock.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock with Mr. Nick Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. this evening (Tuesday) and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to express thanks to "Dr. A" and the staff and care providers at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehab for their dedicated and faithful attention to Mr. Garner.
